Feather River Recreation and Parks Department is setting up a special mailbox for letters to Santa that will go straight to the North Pole! If you wish to write a letter, he'll be sure to write back.
How to get a letter from Santa:
- Have your child write a letter to Santa (see below for a link to our letter template).
- Send us the letter with an extra unsealed envelope addressed to the child.
- Ensure a First-Class Mail stamp is affixed to the envelope or included with your submittal.
- Drop your letter in the North Pole mailbox located at the FRRPD Front Desk OR mail your letter to the Feather River Recreation and Parks Department and we will put the letter in the special North Pole mailbox for you!
Please send your "Letter to Santa" between December 1, 2025 - December 16, 2025
Don't forget to include your return address for a reply from Santa!

We recommend submitting your letters no later than December 16th so it can be returned by Christmas. Santa’s helpers at FRRPD will take care of the rest!
A night to celebrate as a community!
The tree will be lit at 7 pm!
Join us downtown for an evening of holiday cheer with carolers, hot chocolate, free pictures with Santa, carriage rides, and cookies in participating shops. The highlight of the evening will be the Community Tree Lighting Ceremony and snow!
4 – 8 pm: Carriage Rides: Bundle up for a ride that truly captures the spirit of the holidays! The line starts at Miners Alley in front of the Gray Nurse (Craft Faire inside) at 1359 Huntoon St. Tickets: $8 for adults, $5 for kids (ages 2-17), and children under 2 years of age ride for free.
4 – 6:30 pm: Free pictures with Santa inside the Convention Center, 1200 Myers St, from 4 – 6:45 pm.
The Downtown Oroville Christmas Tree Lighting is a gift from the Downtown Businesses and the City of Oroville to the community and is hosted by the Downtown Oroville Business Association.
