Oroville Hospital is partnering with The Oroville Salvation Army to help feed families in need

Oroville Hospital will have three drop-off locations available for canned goods and boxed /dry goods. Please see the informational flyer below for the most needed non-perishable items. The donation collection period for these locations is November 10th – December 15th.

Food Drop-off Locations on Oroville Hospital Campus:

Barrels will be located in supervised lobby locations (look for the large marked barrels)

  • Main Hospital 2767 Olive Highway
  • Dove’s Landing 2450 Oro Dam Blvd
  • Post-Acute Center 1000 Executive Parkway

Together we can make a difference and help feed local families!

We are excited to invite you to participate in a community conversation focused on enhancing our local parks and trails through District sponsored Park Watch ProgramsAdopt-a-Park Programs, and Adopt-a Trail-Programs.

This “community conversation” event aims to bring community members together for a discussion on working together to foster community safety, security, and pride.

Event Details:

  • Date: Third Thursday of each month
  • Time:  5:30pm-6:30pm
  • Location: Oroville Convention Center – 1200 Myers Street

Agenda:

  1. Park Watch Program: Learn about how you can help monitor and protect our parks.
  2. Recruitment/Scheduling of community individuals/groups to “be present” in our parks.
    1. Participate: Be present in one of the core area parks 1x/week for 1 hr. 
    2. Document: Take notes/take pictures
    3. Report: Promote/celebrate positive activities/experiences in our parksShare your observations of undesired activities and/or concerns with District staff.

Focus Points:

  • Community Safety: Strategies to ensure a safe environment for all.
  • Community Security: Measures to enhance the security of our shared spaces.
  • Community Pride: Initiatives to foster a sense of pride and ownership in our community.

Feather River Recreation and Parks Department is setting up a special mailbox for letters to Santa that will go straight to the North Pole! If you wish to write a letter, he'll be sure to write back.

How to get a letter from Santa:

  1. Have your child write a letter to Santa (see below for a link to our letter template).
  2. Send us the letter with an extra unsealed envelope addressed to the child.
  3. Ensure a First-Class Mail stamp is affixed to the envelope or included with your submittal.
  4. Drop your letter in the North Pole mailbox located at the FRRPD Front Desk OR mail your letter to the Feather River Recreation and Parks Department and we will put the letter in the special North Pole mailbox for you!

Please send your "Letter to Santa" between December 1, 2025 - December 16, 2025
Don't forget to include your return address for a reply from Santa!

FRRPD District Office drop-off hours are:
M-F 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Mail the letter to:
1200 Myers Street, Oroville, Ca 95965

We recommend submitting your letters no later than December 16th so it can be returned by Christmas. Santa’s helpers at FRRPD will take care of the rest!

California Uniform Retail Food Facility Law requires re-certification of competence in Food Safety and Sanitation every 5 years. Passing the ServSafe® exam is necessary to renew your certification. Training includes National Restaurant Association ServSafe® Exam, Essentials book, Answer Sheet and Certificate. This training is recognized by the California Health Department and fulfills the State of California certification obligations. Learn the importance of food safety practices and how to implement them. The trainer is State certified. Participants must register and purchase books 3 weeks before training, to allow for book delivery and self-study. Seating is limited. Prepayment reserves your seat.
