Outline:

Our community has faced significant challenges recently, including the Camp Fire and its aftermath, subsequent fires, and the ongoing impact of COVID-19. These challenges manifest in our local workforce through issues like low productivity, lack of empathy, burnout, reduced motivation, absenteeism, and high turnover rates. This training aims to cultivate a Trauma-Informed and Resilience-Focused culture in our local workforce, improving communication, engagement, understanding, empathy, and reducing burnout and friction.

Whether supervisors, educators, caretakers, leaders, or guides, we shape change in our community. Amidst the demands, our daily presence is crucial. This interactive training focuses on practical skill-building through engagement, practice, and reflection. Let's create a space to learn, grow, and reflect together, enhancing our ability to support others while prioritizing our well-being.

Learning Outcomes:

As a result of this training, participants will:

  • Gain foundational knowledge of the biological aspects of trauma, fostering a deeper understanding of personal experiences and cultivating empathy in interactions with others.
  • Increase awareness of one's physical and emotional responses, recognizing their impact on interactions with colleagues and clients, promoting greater self-awareness and emotional intelligence.
  • Enhance interpersonal skills by adopting trauma-informed language, emphasizing empathy and effective communication. Cultivate a work environment that is supportive, collaborative, and conducive to positive relationships, thereby reducing friction.
  • Acquire proficiency in the Community Resiliency Model's six Wellness Skills, developed by the Trauma Resource Institute. Learn techniques for self-regulation and balance in the nervous system, contributing to overall well-being and resilience.

As of January 2024, this training program has been embraced by 96 employers and over 1000 employees within our local workforce. The received feedback has been consistently positive, motivating numerous organizations to consider participation. The growing interest reflects a collective commitment to fostering a trauma-informed, resiliency-focused, and psychologically safe work environment in Butte and Glenn County.
